Today I’m proud to announce a new program that I’ve had in the works for far too long.  I LOVE trying to give back whenever I can, whether it was hosting events to raise money for The Ride to Conquer Cancer when I was in university, helping to coach boys’ hockey in West Hill, or launching my annual toy drive in 2021.  It seems like there have been two common themes throughout everything that I’ve done: sports and helping kids.

From learning about this organization in my younger days while working at Sportchek to seeing these themes come up again and again, Jumpstart is honestly the perfect match for me and who I’d like to give more back to.  I could go on and on about how beneficial sport is, both as a kid as well as an adult, but if you’ve ever participated either solo or on a team, you already get it.  Sports are proven to help improve physical health (obviously), but also to help develop self-esteem, social skills and improve academics.

Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active.  It’s about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends.  Whether it’s the chance to try a new sport or to continue their favourite one, no kid should be left out.

Throughout my life I’ve been lucky enough to participate in a variety of sports and I’ve seen the impact that doing so can have, which is why beginning this year, 2023, I’ll be donating a portion of my commission from every deal to Jumpstart so that even more kids will have the opportunity to play.
